about me
Hello, I’m Sabina – the mind behind Studio GingerCollage.
Creative, detail-oriented, and always mindful of my clients’ needs as well as my own designs for Studio GingerCollage patterns – that’s probably the best way to describe my work. I love fashion, art, nature, and all things beautiful. Between creative freedom and precise pattern making, I find my own flow – a balance of ideas, geometry, and perfection.

… from my love of creating clothing
I started sewing as a child – because store-bought trousers were always too wide at the waist and too short at the legs. So I took matters into my own hands. What began as a necessity soon grew into a passion and later into my profession: after my Apprenticeship in Tailoring, I went on to study fashion design and gained experience in Hamburg, Vienna and Zurich.
The years I spent working in couture and for various fashion brands were particularly formative. There I was able to combine the technical precision of pattern making with creative design work – from developing patterns to preparing production and ensuring quality standards. It was during this time that I deepened my love for pattern making and for shaping modern fashion.
I founded my first label, GingerCollage, in 2008 in Hamburg, offering a ready-to-wear collection and custom bridal gowns at the boutique Ginger & Fred in Eimsbüttel. Today’s Studio GingerCollage is a new beginning – a home for my work as a fashion designer, sewing pattern creator, and pattern director - perfectly suited to my life as a mom of three wonderful children.

Studio GingerCollage – A Passion to Share
The best part of my work is seeing how the patterns I create with so much love transform into a wide variety of garments. Every user brings her own creativity to the process – turning each piece into something personal, lively, and full of character.
With Studio GingerCollage, I want to make exactly that possible: patterns that are aesthetic, modern, and wearable, while leaving room for individual expression – all combined with a perfect fit. My motto:
SEW • WEAR • LOVE
Equally important to me is a conscious, sustainable approach to clothing. No fast fashion – just pieces that last, accompany you, and bring joy.

My Work as a Pattern Director
In addition to creating my own patterns, I also work as a pattern director for designers, fashion brands, and individual clients. I develop custom, perfectly fitting patterns based on my clients’ ideas and designs, and guide each piece all the way to production readiness.
What fascinates me most is the balance between technical precision and creative design. For me, a pattern is not just a technical drawing – it’s the foundation for comfort, aesthetics, and personal expression.
