Hello, I'm Sabina, and I believe that clothes you've made yourself have a special kind of magic. They fit you beautifully. They tell your story. And every time you wear them, they remind you of what you created with your own hands.
I'm a qualified womenswear tailor, a graduate fashion designer and a professional pattern maker with many years of experience in garment design, pattern development and creating high-quality PDF sewing patterns. Every sewing pattern I design combines an excellent fit, carefully considered details and clear step-by-step instructions, helping you create clothes you'll love to wear for years to come.
From Passion to Profession – My Story
My love of sewing began when I was a child. Ready-to-wear trousers never seemed to fit me properly – they were always too loose at the waist and too short in the legs. So I started making my own. What began as a simple solution soon grew into a lifelong passion and, eventually, my profession.
After qualifying as a womenswear tailor, I studied Fashion Design before working in Vienna, Hamburg and Zurich as a pattern maker for couture labels and fashion brands. Those years taught me what makes a sewing pattern truly exceptional – from beautiful proportions and thoughtful design to an accurate fit that feels as good as it looks.
In 2008, I founded my first fashion label, GingerCollage, in Hamburg and launched my own ready-to-wear collection. A year later, I opened my boutique, Ginger & Fred, where I designed and created not only my collections but also bespoke bridal gowns and made-to-measure garments.
In 2013, love brought me to Zurich. I first joined a Swiss-Japanese couture label, travelling to Tokyo for fashion shows and showroom presentations. Later, I worked as a pattern maker for a Zurich-based luxury sportswear start-up, helping to build its collections on a strong technical foundation through pattern development, garment construction and production expertise.
Then life changed in the most wonderful way. My three children were born, and our family moved to Germany's beautiful Markgräflerland region. Today, Studio GingerCollage brings together everything I love – timeless design, thoughtfully crafted PDF sewing patterns, technical expertise and the joy of creating beautiful clothes, all alongside family life.

My Work as a Pattern Maker
Alongside creating my own PDF sewing patterns, I also work as a professional pattern maker for fashion designers, independent labels and private clients. I develop patterns from my clients' designs and ideas, guiding each model through the entire development process until it is ready for production.
What fascinates me most is the balance between technical precision and creative design. To me, a pattern is far more than a technical drawing – it is the foundation of beautiful fit, comfort, craftsmanship and the unique character of every garment.
